HANSEN, Joan Kathryn Passed
away peacefully on January 10th surrounded by loved ones. She was preceded
in death by her loving husband of 54 years Lavell ''Swede'' Hansen. She will
be deeply missed by her children, Blair Hansen (Lynn), Carl Hansen (Pam),
Katie Roth (Mark), granddaughters and great-grandchildren. Joan was born on
July 29, 1928 in Knolls, Utah, near the Bonneville Salt Flats. She was
raised in Wendover, Utah, with her brother Bruce and her parents Blair and
Nell Lamus. After marriage, she moved to California with her husband to
start a life together. After having her children, she taught kindergarten
for many years in the Rio Linda School District. Joan loved gardening,
playing bridge with her ''Bridge Ladies'' and traveling with her husband.
She found great joy in playing and spending time with her grandchildren. In
the last few years, she inspired those who knew her with special songs and
happy spirit. Memorial services are 11:00 AM on Jan. 17th at LIND BROTHERS MORTUARY, 4221
Manzanita Ave, Carmichael. Interment to follow at East Lawn, Sierra Hills
Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Rio Linda
Educational Foundation, 627 L St. , Rio Linda, CA 95673.
